Distinguished Professor Medal

The Distinguished Professor designation is the highest academic title at RIT and is given to faculty who have exhibited a record of sustained excellence over the course of their careers. Josh Owen was awarded the designation of Distinguished Professor in 2018, the year that the distinction was established. In 2020, Owen was named the Vignelli Distinguished Professor of Design and Director of the Vignelli Center for Design Studies. Owen was commissioned to design this medal to be worn by all of the awardees during official University ceremonies. The medal is to be worn on the chest area, above the heart.
